Chaos - The Thousand Sons....

So I have just completed reading this book....A Thousand Sons by Graham McNeill and god do i want to do a thousand sons army again. I wont post details for any that have not read it yet....but jeez AWESOME!

It has now spurred me on to finish my 40k army without a 40K model and to finish my Death Whispers as quickly as possible.....and wanting the new plastic thousand sons to come into life as quickly as possible (come on GW get it together).....

I am now putting money aside ready to build this last stand.....

Skaven Update - Empire Themed War Machines

Hi All,

Just a interesting WIP update, picked up a the new Empire Luminarsk kit and using my warp lightning cannon decided to go bad ass.....

2 Warp Lightining Cannons from combining the kits..

So first one still needs to have something to pull it, I am thinking Rat Ogre...and have the warlock engineer model climbing up the steps to the top...

Packmaster with whip going on the bottom part and a warlock engineer styled model goes on the circular platform....

That is all

Quick Update - Apologises in Advance

Ok so dealt with a few issues last week but hoping to get back into the momentum of painting and the alike this week, work forgiving!

Aim for the week:
- Paint up Grey Knights Wing of Renegades OR finish up the last few main stay models
- Build Stormvermin unit for Skaven

Test model for....40k army without a 40k model is progressing....i have all the HQ/Unique models and am starting to work on the main units.....still looking at working out Death Cult Assassins.....literally looking at using Greatsword bodies with Dark Elf AHW or now looking at:

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer/THE-EMPIRE/EMPIRE-MANANNS-BLADES.html

The image link isn't working...so use that web address above..with extra hand weapons taken from like the men-at-arms kit...

Also possibly thinking about Bretonnian Men-At-Arms....aim for a feudal samurai look....

Progress Update (40K focus)

So i have been working on 40K still this week (did build some skaven models though!)

And here is the update:

Dark Eldar - all built (with exception of 5 wyches, Kat is slow at building) and they have now had their first spray with Liche Purple

Next step is silver weapons with gold as the spot colour....main armor is going to be highlighted a lightish blue or red...not sure yet.

Also started on painting the Grey Knights wing of my Death Whispers....

Main green is pretty much there just needs a wash and then the guns and shoulder pads painting for table top....will do detail and highlights later, just want the main model to be done for these guys...as GK are to beardy. Was rightfully informed that a tac squad (Basic) costs 170pts in Vanilla, for an extra 30pts in grey knights you get an assault 2 weapon and a power weapon on every person (as well as the chance for hammerhead)....its absolute madness!!!!!

Also I have spent some time with the new paint range and i am impressed, GW seems to have sorted out the vast majority of their pigmentation problems with their colours.WIP Inquisition themed around fantasy empire models below....

Inquisitor with Dual Power Weapons (and in-game the cool awesome grenades that screw people up)...

An assasin of some form....probably the one with the C'tan Phase Sword....

The stock and barrel troop of the inqusition...Acoloyte with Storm Bolter...(in a howling griffon themed quarter style as its the only decent fluff i could find about a feudal/medieval world)

An arco-flagellent....(still not sure on colours so just going all red at the moment.....

So thats the update....have fun everyone!

Skaven Stormvermin and Empire Inquistion

Its late, but none the less when i can't sleep I seem to post on here!

So today was slightly eventful - sprayed undercoat on all the dark eldar and built some arco-flageleents from the flagellent kit (only the ones with flails), have also considered using the flagellent in the stocks as the daemonhost....

Also have been considering using this model as an inquisitor with Daemonblade....

Ohhh and meet the Assasin with the C'tan Phase Swords (name escapes me) - this model has been already purchased and had the sword attached as the packback rather than the pistols....

Felt more appropraite than using as a mage.

Still loads more to decide on, specifically still is the Death Cult Assasins, the core foundation for the army's punch!

At the moment I am tempted to use one of the following:

With the empire free company i would only use the options for two 1h swords....all others would be used as rescruits for the skaven slaves unit i am working on.

First Squad of Empire Henchman.

Just a quick update today...

Considered building Skaven Stormvermin, then realised I should really finish my slave unit first befrore starting the next unit (might just scrap slaves for now)

So instead i started the Empire themed Henchman army....there is no major converting for this project just more a lot of count as:
- Crossbow = Storm Bolter
- Handgun = Meltagun
- Repeater Handgun = Plasma Gun

So without further a due....a couple of random pics I have taken.

Dark Eldar Side Project - Losing Focus

Ok, so agreed to start a Dark Eldar Army with my housemate....this is a pic free post as they aren't even a lil bit undercoated....between us we have built the following:

Finecast Succubus (Going to be an archon however - she just prefered the model)
10 Kalabite Warriors - Agoniser, Blaster, Splinter Cannon
5 Wyches - Agoniser Champion and a Shardnet/Impaler (also have the Razorflails built i think)
3 Reaver Jetbikes - Heat Lance
5 Scourges - Splinter Cannon and Blaster
Raider with Dark Lance, Flicker Field and Night Shields

-----------
Still to build:
- 5 Wyches
- Raider

----------
To be added (if she gets her way):
- Void Raven Bomber

...........................................................................................................On a more important note....

The Empire Inquistion Force seems to be building up speed in my head and am just kinda finalising bits and pieces but here are model links and ideas:

Coteaz:

Inquisitor with Dual Power Weapons, Rad and Psychotoke Grenades:

Vindicaire Assasin:

Techmarine:

Just as a character start and focus.....would mount the models probably on circle bases (as not really wanting an empire fantasy army, despite the new kool stuff)

Over and Out for another day....

The Empire Arrives / Adeptus Arbites

I had an epic idea.....Creating a Inquistion Force based on the new Empire Range

I have already acquired a dual hammer Warrior Priest to use as an inquisitor and earlier I was looking at it and thinking bluddy hell this could be epic....

Here is the rough idea:

Warrior Priests = Inqusistiors
Master Engineers = Assasins/Techmarine = Mainly Engineer with Rifle as Vindicaire
Handgunners = Acolytes with Hot Shot Lasguns
Crossbowmen = Acolytes with Storm Bolters
State Troopers with Sword/Shield = Crusaders
Empire Greatswords = Death Cult Assasins
Flagellent Warband = Arco Flagellent
Monkey in the Handgunner box = Jokaero Weaponsmith
Empire Mage = Inquisitor that is a Psyker

Only henchman models not covered:

Banisher
Mystic
Psyker
Daemonhost
Inquisitorial Servitor

although out of that list the only thing that really interests me is how to make a servitor and psyker.....as pretty much everything will go in chimeras or some other mad contratation that i can think of.........

Trial Adeptus Arbite - Using a Cadian Base

So as I discussed I want to make an adeptus arbites army to use as an inquistorial henchman army.

So based on the imagery and some ideas i found, this is my first attempt with some green stuff work (need to get some skills to work on):

This is the basic idea i am going on from a google image search

Combined with the general use of cadians (still a work in progress):

Use main of a cadian body and arms, helmet still needs work as trying to get just the visor look and mouth showing.....Shock Maul is taken from a Dwarf Warrior Axe and cut it up a bit.....Green stuff padding. Not bad for a first attempt, when this is the actual squad:

The Inquistion Force - Adeptus Arbites

Well the Grey Knights elements is coming along (see previous posts) and am now thinking how will i represent the emperor's planetary defence force and its new found alliegance...why with Adeptus Arbites!

Originally i was thinking of getting loads of these: GW Enforcers

Wouldn't the guy with a shield make an excellent crusader? The dog as a jokaero weaponsmith and then arm them all with shotguns (count as storm bolters) or dual shock mauls (Death Cult Assasins)....

On the basis of this idea I started doing some research and found out that some people are thinking about doing this and have seen a brilliant green stuff tutorial that i will be trying out over next few days!!!

So watch this space....I also plan to build the next skaven unit (Stormvermin and Dwarves)...the ogre slave unit is on hold as i really really really dont want to paint 30gnoblars.

A Passing thought and inspriation on using cadians or scouts...

A Trip to TripleHelixWarGames, Westbury

Ok so back in Somerset and took a trip to TripleHelixWarGames and had a couple of awesome games and picked up my old cases.

First Game was against a Cybork Grot and Biker Army and my opponent asked me to play Vanilla. Was a good 3000pt Game and i came out on top 7-5kill points largely thanks to 'Null Zone' on my libby....what an awesome power.

Second Game  was against a very experienced Blood Angels player (3000pts as well)...literally litertered with Special Characters (Mephiston, Astorath and Lemartes). This one i took some pictures of as I knew it would be a good game, and it turned out to be a massacre....Death Whispers got the crap kicked out of them. Just a quick heads up with my list below:

HQ:
Termi Lord with DW/MoT
Sorcerer with MoS Lash, Familiar and Gift of Chaos

Troop:
3 x CSM Squad with PF/Combi-Melta, Flamer, Melta, MoK in Rhino
2 x 10 Sumoned Lesser Daemons (my guard were filling that gap)

Elite:
4 x Termie Champ Lightning Claws with MoS (in Land Raider)
6 x Termies with MoT (5 PF, 1 CF and 1 HF)
5 x Chosen - 2 x Flamer, 2 x Melta, 1 x PF

Fast:
5 x Raptors - PF, 2 x Melta
3 x Bikers - PF, 2 x Melta Mark of Nurgle

Heavy:
1 x Vindicator
1 x Havocs - 4 x Plasma in a Rhino.
1 x Havocs - 2 x ML 2 x HB

So most of my normal stuff littered with marks and extra bits and pieces littered for fun. My opponents list was definatly alot more 'tweaked'.

HQ:
Astorath the Grim
Mephiston

Troop:
10 x Death Company all with Power Weapons (two of these, one with Lemartes, other with Astorath)
1 x DC Dread
5 x DC  in Land Raider with Flamestorm

Elite:
Furisio Libby with Wings and Blood Lance
Chaplain (with 5 Death Company)
Furisio Dread with Blood Talons and Magna Grapple

Fast:
Baal Pred with Heavy Bolter
Baal Pred with Flamestorm/HF

Heavy:
2 x Stormraven

MY opponent Lee and his army after deployment....

Me after deployment....Havocs and Libby in far right rhino (aim was to take out stormravens early, that didnt work)...also infiltrated the chosen.

Not going to do a full turn by turn analysis...but just show some highlights (mainly Mephiston, punking everything).....

Last picture uber Lord and Termies got punked despite assaulting...mephiston is a giant cock.....

End of the Battle - Libby went for it with Lash pulling astorath about and after the plasma havocs did naff all wounds i charged him in...Final Result Blood Angels 13 - Death Whispers 2....

A shocking result but an amazing game none the less.

Thanks Lee and will battle you with the inquisition when i come down again!

And The Massive Update.....Death Whispers FTW...

First things first, their is the Carnage update below (easy way will be to click on the link on the right side) =>

So as i have said, Death Whispers have been the main focus in preparation for Carnage so without further a due a image montage and brief explanation of the kit each squad has.....

Space Marine Dreadnought (Furisio Kit)
I have modelled this kit with the plasma cannon/heavy flamer - but have made the extra arms to treat it as a furisio or a Libby Dread (possible count as Daemon Prince)

The other parts of the model aren't finished yet...but will be added as soon as they are done.

Next up: Fenrisian Wolves
Simple and Effective: White Undercoat, Sepia Wash, Mud Wash, Black Wash....still needs some tidying but dont plan to use them that often at all

Long Fangs Pack:
In a firm belief that cheaper is better and a minimising purpose the Long Fangs are here....3 Missile Launchers and 2 Heavy Bolters with a Squad Leader for Splitting Fire....

Armored Transports:
So to Carnage I took 2 Razorbacks and a Rhino. I did paint up the extra tops for my Razorbacks however to allow them to be used as Rhinos. Really enjoyed doing the skull inlays (from a company called: Chapter MadHouse Studios)

And Now The Inquisition Is On Its Way....

For my Inquisiton wing of Death Whispers I wanted to add a load of Inquistorial Henchman in various states...as I can ensure that i can use some Power Armor dudes as well as guardsman/scout models. In my mass building state yesterday I built about 800-900pts for this army....

Coteaz:

Techmarine:
Without the plasma cutter and twin linked flamer as I wanted to be able to use these to convert up more guardsman as combat servitors/gun servitors...although some are in various stages of their development.
Plasma Cannon Gun Servitors:
So Coteaz has an awesome out of shooting ability and to make the most of this I am going Plasma mad...as most models that are gona deep strike by me are going to have an amazing save...so lets ignore it.

They were made using the Heavy Bolter Finecast Servitor bodies, Heavy Bolter backpacks and then Green Stuffing a Plasma Cannon (from the Space Marine Devies kit without its cable) to make it look kool and WYSIWUG.

Combat Servitors:
Every good Inquisitor needs some Combat Servitors to train on. So from the kit i used the 2 standard servitor bodies and added guardsman armys, then used some normal guardsman with servitor arms...bit of a hit and miss idea, but wanted to sort of show a development and various stages of a combat servitor.

Grey Knight Justicars:
These were awesome to make, they used Death Company legs and bodies, Sanguinary Guard Heads and Shoulder Pads, GK Weapons (obviously will be converted to the scythes):

Grey Knights Heavy Weapons:
I like the idea of having stolen some GK weapons, so I got Joe to make up the full range of weapons that are in the GK boxed set...giving me 4 new weapon sets (2 x Psy, 1 x Inc, 1 x Psylience)....

Inquisitorial Henchman Squads:
I then proceeded to use my two squads of Veterans that I had not painted for my guard army chopping off a load of arms to make some flamer dudes....Only showing one of the squads as the other is exactly the same

Interceptor Squad:
Ok so first issue, there is only 4 models...thats because i don't have any more halberds or Thunder Hammers to be able to readily convert...To make them more combaty I went with the dual weild falchions. What you will notice however is that to make the squad a bit more individual I used my spare Sanguinary Guard/Death Company Angelus Pattern Bolters in place of the Storm Bolters....

So massive update....I would of built more but i have YET AGAIN run out of Silver Skull Shoulder Pads...bringing the total bought and used so far to (Drum Roll Please)....(logs in to Games Workshop to check orders)...90.
