Right, so with Bank Holiday Monday coming I have decided that it is time to start prepping for a massive building fest, and then spraying white and yellow (40k without a 40k model update)....
So getting there with decisions a bit more as well as acquiring the necessary models...the thing that is still elluding me is the DCA....everything else is covered, i now feel that I will have to branch out of the empire range slightly to achieve my goal, but there was always going to have to be sacrifices....
I have also been thinking about, how can i make this into a bad ass guard army and differentiate between guardsmen and veterans....and it finally hit me (not actually) but I have decided to use the Militia boxed set with some crossbows as my core models for this....As for flamers i am thinking flagellents with fire, grenade launchers are still going to be blunderbusses, melta guns are handguns (expect to see a fair few special weapon squads), repeater handguns as plasma guns.......for the heavy weapons (this is where it gets expensive).....
Mortar = Empire Mortar Kit
Autocannon = Cannon Kit
Heavy Bolter = Hellblaster Gun
Missile Launcher = Hellblaster volley launcher thingy
This will effectively be an all infantry list and will probably be the death of me, but meh i am enjoying the prospect of playing 6th edition with fantasy models.....lol
On a more green front, the final box of grey knights has been purchased meaning i can make the final strike squad for the core of the army....I am now considering looking at using all the grey knight bits I have acquired to make sternguard/command squad/vanguard veterans.....OR and this is the big OR = pre-heresy thousand sons/word bearers...
I think with all the open books and scribing that they would make better word bearers, meaning that the first 'test' model I will be making Kor Phareon and an Erebus model to lead the army (Termi Lord with LC and MoK, Lord with DW no Mark possibly).....backing them up with loads of marines with scribed shoulder pads and the metal ones.....PRAISE THE DARK LORDS I LOVE CHAOS!!!!
On a slightly fantasy note, skaven are being built and the stormvermin pics should be up by the end of the bank holiday (as long as i dont get side tracked with my airbrush and empire).
